Flowers of Pueraria montana

葛藤 (かっとう) metaphorically describes a situation where problems become entangled, like the way kudzu vines grow and intertwine with each other. It's an invasive species that smothers all other plants in its path and threatens other native species. I just thought the etymology of the word was cool - don't think about it too much.
